ENERGY EFFICIENCY
We currently build to a standard of 20% better than code that is third-party verified through Ontario Energy Advisors. Our goal is to improve the efficiency of our homes each year to help reduce how much energy our homes use, saving money for our buyers and using less energy to operate the home.
MATERIAL SELECTION
Embodied carbon is the carbon stored in materials. Country Homes is taking steps to find materials that contain a lower amount of embodied carbon. We are working with consultants in this space to seek out alternatives to traditional building materials so we can continue to improve and build with less carbon.

OFFSETS

We are currently collaborating with Wild + Pine to plant trees for every home purchased through Country Homes. We have made a commitment to plant trees that will cover the land each house sits on at another location. This policy allows us to offset a portion of the carbon used to build each home.

RENEWABLE ENERGY

Country Homes has partnered with a renewable energy company, RGC ENERGY, to bring solar power to its communities. The goal for both parties is to bring solar to homeowners for no additional cost. Homeowners can simply purchase the electricity generated by their home’s solar system at a lesser rate than the grid.
